My First Pano

This was my first attempt at doing a pano and I was using a Sanyo 6MP point and shoot that did still and video. I must say it does a fairly good job in each medium but does not hold a candle to the current day cameras.

At any rate I was on a trip to the islands and one of the stops was Provincials in the Turk & Caicos Islands. This particular pano is of five shots and I am standing on the steps that go from the resort to the beach. It was shot mid morning just we were to be leaving the Island for our next stop.

The lettering was done by creating a type layer to the final type and size I wanted then rasterize (simplifying in Elements) the layer. Next was to make a selection of the now rasterized text layer onto the image layer (active). Then a quick copy of the selection onto it’s own layer by Command-J (Ctrl-J on win). Finally use a multiply blend mode and adjust the opacity as needed for the effect.

Placing the image in a fine art digital frame simply adds a touch of class to a really nice shot.

Take care and I’ll be back tomorrow… Doug
