Christmas In June

This image was take Christmas 06. A couple of months after I picked-up my XTi (400D) to get back into SLR-ing in the digital age. All I had at the time was the 17-55 kit lens. I was accustomed to setting aperture and shutter speed on the old Pentax SLR so all the automatic stuff was relatively new. With that I jumped right into the manual mode and really have not left it since. There are occasions to jump into Av Tv or P mode but I am most comfortable in manual.

This was my last night in Columbus before coming home for Christmas and the folks at East Town Center know how to do Christmas. This particular shot is from the North end of the mall area. The 17-55 is not especially fast glass and I did not have a tri-pod with me so I had to lay across the roof of the car to stabilize the lens.
