One Before Bedtime

I promise this will be the last post today. All week I have been telling myself that I was going to get a sunset picture with the sun behind the Western mountains of Las Vegas NV. Well, it was getting around that time and I went in search for a suitable perch to snap the pics.

There was no roof access at the hotel so it was down to ground level to see what I could see. I gotta tell you... It wasn't much. Mostly a wall blocking the highway. So I went around the backside of the hotel and there it was. Next door to the hotels was a fitness center that was huge and had a fire escape going up about forty feet. Perfect.

The first image was taken to the west and I had to stop down the aperture a bit to get the hills to silhouette. I snapped about five pics to get it just the way I wanted it and then went to start my climb down the fire escape when I saw the redness in the hills to the East and decided they warranted some digital space.

I really did not do much to either of these in post. All that stuff in the mags and online about getting it right in the camera must be working for me.
Take care... Doug
