The Eyes Have It

Any photographer will tell you that the eyes are the most important focal point of portrait photography. Even animal photography, you want the eyes tack sharp, and when they are focus on the lens it is as though you can look into the heart of the person.

So where am I going with this. If you know, congratulations. If not, here it is... The finished image below has had the young ladies eyes enlarged ever so slightly. This is a glamour trick to further draw the views attention into the image.

Think back to when you may have seen someone with overly large eye yet not objectionable. It draws your attention to the point that you can stare at them and not realize it.

Ok... Don't go gasping if you did not know that is what was done. That is the whole idea.

Without the knowledge that this image had been digitally enhanced, does it look like as though it could have been taken under lighting conditions and make-up without being "re-touched".

We are in a digital time that provides tools to make people happy. Why not use them to the best of our ability.

Artist paint with oil and chalk, photographers paint with light.

Take care... Doug
