I really have not started on my fireworks montage but I have been getting some interesting shots which is more interesting than post processing a bunch of fireworks. The above image is one such image.
Again the back story is just as interesting as the image. In this case one of the other guys I am working with on a project had not flown in over 90 days which drops him out of currency to fly passengers. Earlier this month we both were notified that we needed our annual route check. Typically a single flight from point A to point B. As we wanted to get work done with the rest of the team during the day, we set up a night flight for the currency and checks.
So this shot was taken with the Canon 5D MkII with a EF 16-36 f/2.8L lens attached using available light. In this case I was running the ISO at 500 as the sun was really gone and the only light was very obtrusive quarts lights illuminating the ramp area. I put the camera in video mode to get live view and held it up as high as I could and dipped it down to pick up the nose of the airplane.
That kind of wraps up the week for me. Take care all and have a wonderful weekend.
Cya... Doug
