Way Cool Tool

This is a screen capture of a website I found the last week while I was in Boca Raton FL. We got in late on Wednesday night and were staying at a hotel on the beach (very unusual as we normally stay close to the airport). Anyhow I took a stroll out on the beach to reconnoiter for a sunrise shot on Thursday morning. In the image above you can see a red and green line that indicate where to look for the sun. Obviously to the west is the red line for the sunset and to the east is the green line for the sunrise. Ok, now if I really had to explain that for you to understand, please... STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. Do not bother reading any further.
The panel is self explanatory and a really nice tool to help not only figure out when but where the sun will rise or set. What is really cool is if you want to silhouette an object against the sun you can position the line over the object and you then know where to stand any day of the year. I tried it on my Android and it worked so it should also work on an iPhone. Yes I am sure there are numerous apps to do the same thing but I have not seen one that actually will point you in the direction of the sun. Way cool.

That will do it for today and this week. Take care all and have a great weekend... Doug
