Early Morning

Sorry, this was not this morning but it was very cold out. I just happened to wake up about 4:30 one morning this past fall and saw a full moon through the window and it struck me that there might be a sunrise. For those of you who do not live in West Michigan, between the months of November and April, the sun is a cherished thought as we only get about 30% of that brilliant ball. So off into the dark I go, camera gear and all. I did manage to get to this spot a little early but it gave me an opportunity to second guess my locations and where the sun would actually rise.

I had brought my 70-300 IS and my original 17-55 kit lens which has not been the best glass in the case. At any rate the 70-300 was going to be too long for what I wanted so I settled on the 17-55. This photo is 34mm at 1/250th and f/4.5. If I can remember I think I had a 2 stop ND filter screwed on also.
