To cap off this week of New York, I thought I would move on from ground zero as sobering and moving as it was to some items of a lighter note.
On Friday afternoon as soon as we arrived we started our adventures. We found ourselves at the South Street Seaport for something to eat. As we walked around the east end of the building (along the East River) the London Bridge revealed itself. I had taken some pictured of the kids and a lady was nice enough to rake a picture of the four of us. I had the camera all set to include a full stop down on flash compensation as well as a mounded defuser and aiming the flash 45 degrees up. It seams like it was just enough fill flash for the occasion.

It is funny how when we roll with the punches we are often given a little treat. We all really wanted to go the the Statue of Liberty but all came off like it was no big deal. What we ended up with was not only very rewarding, but one of the funniest times we had in New Your (or should I say New Jersey as it was on Staten Island).
Without going into all the gory details, the image below was one of the funniest and for the gals embarrassing moment of the trip. After I had made contact with the men about a photo, they all called out to my daughter (in a very heavy New York accent) to come get in the picture . Hence the embarrassment. They we all great guys and even gave us a tip about a memorial on the island which we did go and see before we took the ferry back over to Manhattan.

All in all we had a marvelous time, having checked all the New York thinks to do list.
- Ferry Ride
- New York Taxi
- New York Subway
- Photo Op with New York's finest
- Dinner with rose and 30 year anniversary diamond
- Opera
- Time Square
- Empire State Building
- Macy's, Rokefeller Center, Trump Tower, Tiffany, FAO Schwarz, Plaza Hotel, and the glass cube of the New York Apple Store.
- A horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park
- A visit to B&H Photo... YES!!!
Take care all. See you on Monday
Doug
