Hey all, Thought I would put out another post this warm Wednesday in Las Vegas. That's right, I am still in LAS waiting for direction from the mother ship.
Anyhow, I just got done reading David Ziser' Blog over at Digital ProTalk. The quick summary of this was to look forward and not backward. It is a great read and if you want to take a look, click here. His post was prompted by a visit to a fellow photographers studio and subsequent impromptu meeting with a number of area photographers.
There was a statement about racing in the post that said the guy was "... constantly looking over his shoulder checking on who was catching up from behind him." It wasn't until he focused on what was ahead of him that he started winning races.
Metaphorically this can be applied to much of what we do in life. Water under the bridge. Spilled milk. What's done is done. These are all statements that support this philosophy of looking forward and keeping your eye on the prize or goal.
Keeping focused on the goal ahead not only provides motivation for your actions but gives use a daily purpose rather than plodding though life with no direction. This purpose is obviously temporal as there are other purposes to life that I am not going too dwell on here. With each goal we reach, there should be another goal waiting in the wings to replace it.
Staying focused on our own business and improvement produces an additional benefit. Not dismissing the importance of networking, we stay out of others business.
Thanks for stopping by today... Doug
