Here is a photo I took last week of a buddy of mine and his wife while I was in Columbus doing some work. I knew I was to be down for the whole time so I brought my gear just in case I had an opportunity to do some shooting.
This is my buddy who is just a killer guitar player, I mean like he just rips it up. No kidding. You can visit his site right here. Anyhow we go back about eight or so years and we fly the same plane and have the same job function as check airmen with the same company.
The specs on the shot are a Canon 40D with an EF 70-200 f2.8L IS lens mounted. The focal length was at 185 mm while I stood about fifteen feet away. Aperture was at f/2.8 and the shutter tripped at 1/125th of a second.
We had gone to dinner and then up to their place for the shoot. The weather was cloudy with an ominous look of rain showers so I was not hopeful of anything turning out. While I was out setting up the sun came out from underneath the clouds and gave a wonderful golden glow to everything. Unfortunately this only lasted a couple of minutes and by the time the two of them showed the sun was in adios land. But with the 2.8 glass there was not going to be any problem with a natural light shot.
Hey... That's pretty much it for this week. We have a baby shower to go to this weekend but come back on Monday.
Cya... Doug
