More Maryland

Here are a couple more images I was able to grab just before we lost the sun. We had done some shooting at the house before we headed off to Quiet Waters Park for these shots. What would have been a fifteen minute drive turned into a forty five minute rat-race through rush hour traffic in the Annapolis MD area. So father time was not playing nicely with us. Particulars on this shot were the Canon 40D with an EF 16-35 f/2.8 L lens at 16 mm f/3.5 and 1/25th second.

This is one of those one shot opportunities. Sun going away, boat moving through the scene, the only thing you can do is pre-shoot and wait for the moving object. I was shooting this image with an EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS lens and had it cranked out to 115 mm and stopped at f/6.3 with an exposure of 1/125 second. I had to deal with a touch of lens flare as I had forgotten to take off the UV filter I run on all my lenses. If you are noticing a single flair ghost when shooting into the sun and you are running a protective filter on the front of you lens, try taking it off and see if the flair go's away.

Hey I gotta get going on this Monday morning. Have a great start of the week.
