I just could not resist the temptation. After the year long anticipation and reading the blog post, reviews, and videos, I had to put my money where my lust is. Yes I have pre-ordered the Canon 5D Mk II. It will fit a position in my arsenal that extends all of my lenses to a different focal length than the 40D with the 1.6 cropped sensor.
If you have been a reader of my blog for a while you will remember that I had a Canon Rebel XTi that thought it would be better laying on a parking lot than in my hands. It forced my hand to pick up the 40D. I had planned to keep the XTi and get the 5D Mk II when it came out. Well, the 5D Mk II has it all over both the XTi and the 40D that it really serves a different purpose. There in lies the temptation.
Justified or not, the money has been spent and I can look forward to an excellent Christmas time.
