Old School Digital

I really like this photograph. It is a photograph and not just an image as I have a print of it on my wall in the office. Granted it probably will not get any bigger than the 8x10 that I have but is a way cool picture. That's me and my buddy Mike (see the Sunday Bonus Blog) in front of  Beechcraft Staggerwing in the Raytheon (now Hawker Beechcraft) in the delivery center at the Beechcraft Field in Wichita KS. I had to place the camera on a little 4" bendable tripod (predecessor to the Gorilla Pods) on the receptionist counter, set the timer and flash for some fill and get back into the scene in time. I think it only took a couple of takes toi get the exposure and flash fill relatively good for the shot.

I say this is old school digital as it was taken on an Olympus C-2020Z Digital with a gigantorish 2.1 megapixels. My Blackberry Pearl has 3 mp as it sits in my pocket. The thing that is interesting about the megapixel issue is brought to light be between these tow devices. The Oly's 2.1 totally blows away the BB's 3.0 all because of the sensor size. One of those how many flies can you get on a pin-head. It all depends on how big the pin is and how small the flies are. If you want to delve deeper into the subject check out the Smoke and Mirrors post.

Catch you later... Doug
