Weekend Alone

Hey all... Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was just a tad boring as I spent it in a hotel room and on airlines. YUCK!

It started out in the fine Southern town of Louisville KY. When in Louisville our crews stay downtown at the Seelbach Hilton. This hotel goes back to 1883 just eight years after the first Kentucky Derby. It has gone through many different renovations and is once again having some work don on it. Across the street on fourth is a city type mall with more bars than stores but it seams to be the place to be on Friday nights. There was a Friday night concert with a rock group called The Pygmies. The venue had absolutely terrible acoustics and I was not interested in hearing just loud noise but I got a few pic that I will put up in the next couple of days.

That was until Saturday mid-morning. I got a new brief to catch a couple of airline flight to get out to SAN (San Diego CA) to do a checkride on one of the Captains on a hop to Santa Ana, John Wayne, you know... The O.C. I finally got out to the coast at 8:00 PM eastern just feeling peachy. I didn't know if it was the kid behind my kicking me in the back for a couple of hours on the leg from SDF-IAH or the young man with way to much stuff (it sat between his legs and on his lap the whole way) next to me on the same flight. It might have been the great grandmother that could not talk, or walk for that matter (believe me I am not down on the grams) but must have thought I was warm and cushy because about every fifteen or twenty minutes I had to make some kind of motion so she would reposition herself so she was not halfway on my lap. I doubt if I will feel much better tomorrow night as I am scheduled to get into GRR at 11:00 PM. Good news is that I don't go back to work until the 4th of August. YIPPEE!

Thats pretty much it for now. Stop by tomorrow for more.

Doug
