Merry Christmas

The nativity scene has long been (well at least since 1220 A.D.) a representation of the coming of the Christ child. Traditionally a Christian setting used during Christmas to recognize the birth of their Savior.

Ok, so that's the politically correct pitch even if saying that is not PC. As succinctly as I can put it, God (creator of all things) sent his son (sinless in all ways) to earth for one purpose. That being to make a sacrificial payment for the sin of mankind (yours and mine). Costly it was as his life was the sacrifice on the cross thirty three years later. That payment of sin paved the way for man (that would be any man, woman, or child) to be able to have an everlasting fellowship with God (that would be for eternity). Not just here on earth but after death. Simply by recognizing man's (your) flaws and errors (sin), and accepting Jesus Christ as savior, that without his presents in your life you will spend eternity separated from God.

So how do we have this fellowship or connection with God. A simple submission in prayer is all that is necessary. Think (or pray) about these words;

"Lord God, I know that I am a sinner and believe that Jesus died for my sins. I ask you right now as simply as I can to save me and guide my life."

Even if you do not fully grasp the ramifications of that prayer, if you believed what you just prayed, you have avoided eternal separation from God. I would count it an honor if you would leave me a comment as to your salvation.

Some sobering thoughts but what a relief of burden and guilt life places on us when we give the controls over to a divine being that knows us better that we know ourselves.

I hope your Christmas is a joyous occasion and you are able to share it with your family. I on the other hand am in Salt Lake City away from my precious wife and youngest child home from school. But my go-home day is just around the corner... Yippee!

Take care all... Doug
